Whether you’re a newly engaged bride ready to dive deep into wedding planning, or you’re a few months away from saying your I Dos, this is YOUR year! Before you go into high speed bridal mode, let’s take a time out to think about how to make all your wedding dreams come true.
1. Your Wedding, Your Choice
Everyone loves a good wedding, so it’s no surprise that when it comes time to planning yours, family and friends have lots of opinions. And hey, sometimes an idea or two can be super helpful, but it’s important not to lose sight of your own vision! Stay true to the parts of your special day that matter the most to you.
2. Dress the Part
Tulle, organza, lace, oh my! There’s a reason wedding dresses come in so many variations. Take your time on finding the perfect dress of your dreams. Have fun! Go outside your comfort zone and try on something you don’t think is your style. Convinced you’re an A-line girl? Try on a mermaid cut! Not sure if you can pull off an illusion neckline or a plunging back? Why not give it a shot? You might be surprised at what you’ll find…and most importantly what you love!
3. Slow and Steady Wins the Wedding Race
There’s a reason they say Rome wasn’t built in a day. Putting together one of the most incredible days of your life takes time. Big or small, your wedding is going to be amazing. So much goes into planning such a monumental day, so take your time. Think about all the songs you and your fiancé love before you hand over your playlist. Research a few different gifts you might want to give your bridesmaids.
4. All Hands on Deck
This is a great excuse to spend time with the special people in your life who are jazzed to celebrate your wedding! Plan a fun night in with your besties so they can help to put together welcome bags with you. Think about turning a date night with your fiancé into an all out seating chart extravaganza. Sometimes it really does take a village.
5. Back to the Basics
Between food tastings, floral arrangements, dress fittings, and everything else that goes into your big day, it’s easy to forget how you got here in the first place. Make sure to take time each day, each week, each month, to enjoy life with your special someone. Before wedding planning took center stage, it was just the two of you, and when it’s all said and done, it’ll be just the two of you again. Remember, on the road to wedded bliss, the journey is just as important as the destination.
You’re on your way. Ready, Set, Go!
