The energy was abuzz backstage Thursday morning as our Desert Dreams Fall 2019 collection prepared to make its NYBFW runway debut! Madeline Gardner put the final finish touches on her gorgeous lineup of gowns, as the models primped and prepped. The music beating from the stage signaled the ten minute countdown while the girls were fitted into their dresses.
As butterflies were setting in, dream catcher head pieces were being meticulously placed on an array of messy weaved braids and loose cascading waves. The final sparkling touch! And just like that, it was showtime!
Lights dimmed over the runway, as the ethereal floral backdrop set the stage perfectly for the boho bliss that was about to take over! From editors to influencers, you could feel the excitement as the pulse of Queen came pumping through the speakers.
Our hearts skipped a beat for every sparkle and decadent detail, as the gowns made their way gracefully down the runway. The striking mix of bohemian beauty and glamour could be seen from head to toe on every dress. Rich textures, soft beading, sheer panels, and intricate trains were just some of the standout features giving each dress a unique personality. In true boho spirit, the collection played with hints of champagne, blush, and touches of grey, beneath the layers of the skirts.
From one dreamy look to the next, the energy was building to a final showstopper. And what a moment it was! We loved everything about this Finale piece, Radiance, from the sheer bodice, to layers of Chantilly lace, to the ethereal flutter sleeves. The way the light hit the beads, we couldn’t stop staring at the dazzling sparkle! The scooped out back with its stunning train, and bluish grey undertones beneath layers on layers of sheer organza, tulle, and lace were the epitome of perfection!
As all of the models came back for a final walk down the runway, we were all cheers and smiles when Madeline Gardner, our designer extraordinaire, accompanied her amazing Radiance Finale gown down the runway for a final wave to close out the show.
One thing’s for sure, we can’t wait for the Desert Dreams collection to go live online and in stores later this week. And until then, that’s a wrap!
